If you are a smaller guy, then you could eat a bit less and if you bigger than average, then a bit more. But 2200 calories is a good baseline.
Aerobic exercise is of course necessary to achieve fat loss  for men and also women, wanting to lose fat, should be doing a minimum of 3 days of aerobic training a week. 3 days a week for about 30 minutes is a solid starting point. If you are just at the beginning of your fat loss journey and consuming 2000-2200 calories per day and exercising 3 times a week for 30 minutes, you should have no problem with losing fat. But what happens if you don`t lose fat or stop losing fat?
Fat loss for men is not often easy and very often men have plateaus. If you are unable to lose any more weight, then there are a few simple strategies you can use. The first and most obvious choice is to exercise more. The more calories you burn, while making sure your calorie intake does not increase, the more likely you are to lose fat, right? And of course another option is to reduce your calorie intake. So if you have problems with losing fat, then these are the main things you can play with. One of the mistakes that men often make, when they start to burn more calories with exercise, is that they also unconsciously start to eat more. You might not be consciously even aware of this, but it does happen. So if you exercise more, make sure you don`t eat more. And if you eat less, make sure you don`t exercise less.

The main reason why men are not able to lose fat, is because they can’t find the right balance. If you are struggling to make any progress, it is not because you can’t do it, but because something is wrong. You need to find out what is wrong and find the best solution.
